Benefits

Student Enrolment and Scholarships

The ISSF Erasmus Mundus Master Programme will enroll 20 students per year, for a total of four cohorts. Each cohort lasts two years, resulting in 80 students over the full duration of the programme.

The ISSF Programme will provide a total of 60 EU-funded Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) scholarships across the four cohorts. These highly competitive scholarships are awarded to a subset of admitted applicants based on academic excellence and the selection criteria outlined in the programme’s admission procedure.

Each EMJM scholarship covers the full 24-month duration of the programme for full-time students, including participation fees and registration at all four partner universities. In addition, scholarship holders receive a monthly stipend of €1,400 to cover living expenses, accommodation, travel, and other costs.

Scholarship allocation will consider both academic merit and geographical balance, as some scholarships are specifically reserved for applicants from targeted world regions (see the list of eligible regions). Please note that students who have previously benefited from an EMJM scholarship are not eligible for another.

Self-Funded Students

The programme also welcomes self-funded students who meet the excellence criteria and can demonstrate sufficient financial means to cover the entire study period. Self-funded students enjoy the same academic benefits and services as scholarship holders, including participation in all courses and activities and registration at the four partner universities.

The participation fees are:
  • €4,500 per year for EU students,
  • €9,000 per year for non-EU students.
In addition to these fees, self-funded students are responsible for covering living expenses, accommodation, travel, and other personal costs. Applicants should be fully aware of the cost of living in all hosting countries.

Self-funded students who are not awarded a scholarship must submit a Guarantee of Full Financial Support (annexed to the Learning Agreement prior to enrolment). This ensures that sufficient funding is secured for the entire duration of studies and supports the student visa application process.

Additional Funding Opportunities for Self-Funded Students

Self-funded students are strongly encouraged to explore alternative funding opportunities, including:
  • Erasmus+ mobility funds (Key Actions 131 and 171) available during enrolment;
  • Scholarships or mobility grants offered by their home or host universities;
  • National Erasmus+ Offices, National Agencies, or Erasmus+ Focal Points, which may provide information on other funding schemes;
  • External scholarship portals and opportunities offered by international organizations or national funding programmes in their country of origin.

Applicants should explore dedicated portals to find funding suited to their nationality or field of study such as:
