Overview
ISSF offers a unique mobility path across three countries, ensuring cohort cohesion throughout the program. The curriculum enables transdisciplinary training across the first three semesters, each focusing on key issues in insect sciences and global solutions. The first semester will take place in France at the University of Tours and the University of Orléans with a focus on Insects in eco- and agrosystems. The second semester will take place in Belgium with a focus on Insects and industry and innovation. The third semester will take place in Portugal with a focus on Insects and public health. Finally, the fourth semester is dedicated to a 6-month Master’s thesis internship that can be undertaken anywhere in the world, with more than 60 partners already identified worldwide.
The ISSF program features several enriching events that foster cohesion and exchange, both within and across cohorts. Each semester begins with a Welcome Week, hosted by the respective hosting institutions, which promotes student integration, unity, and active involvement. The journey culminates in a Degree Award Ceremony, celebrating achievements and master theses, while bringing together students, ISSF partners, and alumni to strengthen the global network, create guidance opportunities, and foster lasting collaboration.
